The Ma Mian skirt is named for its resemblance to ancient trapezoidal pagodas. It became most popular during the Ming and Qing dynasties, worn by everyone due to its diversity and memorable symbolism. Suitable for traditional festivals, weddings, and everyday wear, it remains one of the most sought-after styles of hanfu today.
Shimmering Gold features dragon and lantern motifs, exuding a sense of luxury and good fortune. The intricate dragon design is seamlessly incorporated into the Ma Mian Skirt, with finely crafted gold thread embroidery that sparkles in the light, adding a dynamic and radiant touch. The palace lantern design, inspired by imperial courtyard lanterns, blends elements of ancient architecture, adorned with jewels and tassels for a truly opulent look. At the top, a red gemstone adds a touch of grandeur. The gold thread stitching on the skirt includes some small loose threads, but they don't affect the overall wearability.
The palace lantern originated during the Eastern Han Dynasty, became popular in the Sui and Tang dynasties, and remains a significant tradition during China’s Lantern Festival, where people still celebrate by lighting lanterns.
