During the Qin Dynasty, hanfu has an extra belt around the waist.—men typically used leather, while women favored silk. By the time of the Han Dynasty, the Chinese referred to themselves as Han ethnic group, and their attire as hanfu. Han style hanfu further emphasized it lithe and grace.
Vermilion is crafted from a blend of artificial silk, featuring a custom pattern inspired by the Mawangdui longevity embroidery (马王堆长寿绣) from the Hunan Museum's collection. The fabric, using a combination of light and dark weaving techniques, has a rich, lustrous finish and a luxurious texture.
This design may result in the skirt of the hanfu grazing the floor, but there's no need to worry—this is an intentional feature of the style and part of its aesthetic charm.
